I love Lewis Carroll and his amazing stories of Alice, so was really inspired to create this Alice in Wonderland wedding cake with a bit of a glam touch!
With a gold sequin tier, edible lace and handmade sugar roses, this cake is whimsical yet glamorous, proving that themed wedding cakes don't have to be tacky. It even features a handmade sugar teacup and saucer as a topper, with sugar roses nestled inside.

Semi-Naked Wedding Cake with Edible Gold...
Semi-naked cakes are still a huge trend in the world of wedding cakes, presumably because there are so many ways to decorate them!
For this event, I created a bit of a combination, with one tier being traditionally iced then two semi-naked cake tiers sat on top. These were dusted with edible gold leaf to tie in with the gold lustre on the bottom tier, which was displayed on a tree stump adorned with lots of foliage. I went on a foraging mission to my friend Jane from Woo B Woo who kindly provided me with some fresh flowers to decorate it with too.
I'd seen (probably on Pinterest, though I forget where!) a golden hoop back drop and wanted to create my own as a display piece for this cake. One afternoon I went on a bit of a mad scavenger hunt and finally found a child's hula hoop. I then peeled all the horrible shiny stripy glitteryness off, sprayed it gold using some specialist paint spray and ta-da! I had a gold hoop. My very clever husband attached it to a block of wood for me so it would stand up unaided, and I decorated it with some fresh flowers and some foliage from my garden including rosemary and ivy. Doesn't it look fabulous!? I can see this making a lot more outings with me :)

Pantone Colour of the Year 2017 Greenery Inspired Wedding Cake
When the gurus of all things colour Pantone announced their Colour of the Year 2017 was Greenery, I was super excited to see how this could be translated into the world of wedding cakes. A few of my industry friends collaborated on a live photoshoot which happened at The Bridal Affair's Wedding Affair at Kirkgate Market, Leeds, and I was thrilled to be asked to provide a cake, and what better style of cake than one which tied in with the theme of Greenery?! When I think of Greenery I think of foliage, freshness and liveliness, which I hope comes across in this cake. Images below are by me and the much better ones are by Stevie Jay Photography (https://steviejayphotography.co.uk) Styling by Mode For... Events (www.modeforevents.co.uk/)
